Institute Dr. Schrader is a group of contract institutes that tests, analyzes and develops products for the cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries. Its unique constellation makes the Institute a worldwide leader in its field.
The five separate institutes operate independently; nevertheless they continually produce cross-institutional results, product formulas, technologies and methods that help make it possible for the cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries to offer increasingly effective and safe, yet innovative products.
The success of this family-owned group of companies is based on scientific competence and reliability as well as on the growing need for development and testing of a great many cosmetic and pharmaceutical products.
 Institute Dr. Schrader is a member of the most important professional and industrial organizations that stand for the interests of the Institute. For instance the Institute is represented by Institute Dr. Schrader Creachem GmbH in the FKI e.V. (Research Foundation of the Cosmetic Industry), which as a member association of the AiF (German Federation of Industrial Research Associations "Otto von Guericke") is supported by and does research for the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Labor.
For its work Institute Dr. Schrader has available several thousand volunteers, more than 3,000 mē of laboratory space, including six fully controlled-climate test laboratories and over 50 highly qualified employees from the widest variety of scientific fields, including chemists, biologists, physicists, statisticians, information scientists and dermatologists. Over the past 30 years the Institute has tested, formulated and analyzed several thousand products, published numerous scientific papers, filed patent applications for more than 100 new formulations and instruments and been granted numerous patents.
Institute Dr. Schrader works on interdisciplinary projects with scientists from all relevant fields as well as with universities and colleges. The Institute communicates its innovative methods and instruments not only through scientific publications but also through consulting and actual support and in this way helps make it possible for them to become standards used in scientific research as well as in development, testing and analysis.
