Cell culture tests and studies in human tissue models are cost-effective ways to screen new active substances for their possible effects as a pre-selection can be made before expensive, time-consuming studies are performed on volunteers to substantiate the test results.

Depending on the expected effect, different test systems ranging from simple tentative experiments in a test tube to complicated tests in 3-D skin models are used to assess the efficacy. When we develop new in vitro tests to prove the efficacy of cosmetics and pharmaceuticals we concentrate on forward-looking solutions that go beyond the horizon of routine tests. Our range of services includes the following tests:

• Evaluation of wound healing stimulation properties: determination of cell proliferation (MTT assay, NRU assay) und Sandwich ELISA assays (e.g. IL-1, IL-6 etc.) in cell cultures and human skin models

• Assessment of anti-inflammatory / curative properties in cell cultures and human skin models by means of Sandwich ELISA for IL-1α, IL-6, PGE-2 and TNFα

• Dissolution testing, e.g. according to pharmacopeias for ointments, tablets, fabrics, etc.
